Machon would train on the dryslope Halfpipe in the rain at night, which was when the slope was fastest.

He is a monster on the halfpipe and has won just about every halfpipe-related domestic competition there is to win for skiers, including The British Halfpipe Championships, which he has won an unprecedented five times. He was the first British skier to ever be invited on the Winter Dew Tour. Machon also places very well in international competitions, such as 8th in the FIS World Halfpipe Championships 2015, as well as 8th in the US Aspen Open in 2012 and a handful of consistent Top 20 results on the FIS World Cup circuit.
