Emily started skiing when she was 3 and has been competing on the FIS Ski Cross World Cup circuit since 2006. Her highest world ranking to date has been 20th in 2008, though she has been the top British ranked Ski Cross athlete already in her career.

Due to a serious knee injury in February 2009, Emily unfortunately missed the rest of the season, though succesful surgery enabled Emily to be back racing at the start of the 2009/2010 season.

In the 2009/2010 season, Emily created British Skiing history by becoming the first British Female Skiier to win a Skiing Europa Cup race. At the start of the 2010/2011 season, she finished third in the inaugural South American Cup race in Chapelco, Argentina, in a field containing Vancouver Winter Olympic Games Ski Cross athletes.

Emily's goals are to be consistently placed in the world's Top 10 for Ski Cross and to compete at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games.
