Profile - Alistair Cruz-Mermy

Alistair started skiing aged two in the ski resort of Châtel (France). He was a FIS racer until the age of 19 with very good results. He then competed for one season in freeride ski cross. He stopped skiing for 8 years to pursue a career building racing sail boats. He started telemarking in 2012. At first it was mainly the challenge of learning a sport more complex and technical than alpine skiing. But he was won over by the beauty of movement and sensation that this sport provides. He won the Derbys Trophy in the 2012/13 season and from this came the idea of doing something more serious for the next season. He also raced in the French championship in Tignes and realized that he has potential in the sport!
