Cameron Cruickshank Squad: British Cross Country Youth Squad @cameron_cruicks @camer0n0 Career Highlights: 1st - U14 Scottish Rollerski Championships, 2015 Cameron started skiing when he was 10 years old, after seeing some rollerskiers skiing at Huntly Nordic Ski Club. He went along to the kids club that summer and was hooked. Cameron spent that winter, and the following spring, training really hard and got himself to the required level for the British Nordic Development Squad. He joined BNDS in the summer of 2012, and since then he has greatly improved his skiing through regular training at HNSC, as well as BNDS training camps. Cameron has been lucky enough to attend winter training camps in Norway and Sweden, where he also competed in international races, gaining valuable experience. He is now 14 and in 4th year at school, going on to do his National 5’s. Cameron's hopes for the future are to qualify for European Youth Olympics and to ultimately go on to compete at the Winter Olympics. Cameron would like to thank his Mum and Dad for all their support, as well as all his coaches; from Malcolm Cooper, who first encouraged him to aim for BNDS, to all the coaches at HNSC and BNDS who give up their valuable time to help him improve his skiing.
