Victoria was born in Mödling, near Vienna, to a British and Austrian Father, who studied in Scotland, qualified as a solictor and then left the UK for the love of the Alps and his Father’s family home in Zell am See. She went to school in Mödling until the age of 14. From the age of 5, so that she could ski competitively, her parents drove her 570 miles to Zell am See and back every weekend during the winter season. At the age of six she joined the Skiing Club Zell am See which, together with her club trainer Gidi Gruber, has always supported her and who continue to be an enormous support. She won the Kinder Cup series for 4 consecutive years and joined the Salzburg Squad where she gained valuable experience from various coaches, who, from an early age, entered her into the Austrian National Championships.

At age 14 Victoria moved to the HIB Saalfelden, near Zell am See, which specializes in Alpine skiing (and other ski disciplines). Here she trains with ski/ fitness trainer Stefan Bierbaumer, who will also accompany her through FIS. The school curriculum is tailored to developing skiers, and provides a complete professional service (including fitness training, medical tests, etc) in addition to training in all alpine disciplines, and accompanying the athletes to races. Secondary school lasts an extra year in order to enable flexibility, which means that Victoria still has 3 further years until she finishes school.

Last year Victoria was one of 3 girls in her age group to be selected as a “future junior” by the Austrian National Ski Federation – a new project and valuable experience.

Victoria will start her first FIS year this autumn and, as a dual national since birth, has chosen to race for GBR.

She will take part one of the Salzburger ski instructor exam in July, and subsequently plans to prepare for her first FIS races.
